The Section of Family Planning and Contraceptive Research at the University of Chicago is grounded in the belief that every woman has a right to plan if, when and how to have a family regardless of race/ethnicity, socio-economic status or citizenship. We believe the future of reproductive health can be secured through responsible policy making ensuring women and girls continued access to a wide range of reproductive health care services and maintaining a women’s bodily integrity.

The main objectives of the Section’s Health Policy component are to ensure the University of Chicago community is informed regarding reproductive health legislation and politics, be knowledgeable of all current reproductive health activities transpiring on the state and federal level, serve as a resource and expert on reproductive health policy, and to advocate and influence politics on the state and federal level.
