Become a Volunteer
Description of volunteer opportunities
Volunteering with our section can be a very rewarding experience. Whether you are looking for a topic for a college research thesis or would like to accrue some hands-on experience doing research during high school, college, medical school or residency, we offer a wide range of opportunities. Volunteers can help with a range of activities from answering phones and screening/recruiting potential participants, to updating/creating research binders and materials, as well as helping with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, and data collection, entry, and analysis.
Our busy Section usually has 6-8 studies going on at any point in time, and these studies can involve underprivileged teenage moms, graduate students looking for contraceptives, and even birth attendants in Ghana! This means that the work never gets boring and you get to experience a wide range of duties and situations. Your work involves interacting with health professionals and sometimes patients! So if you are looking for a very rewarding volunteer experience that benefits your personal as well as scholastic growth, give our coordinator a call and see how you can become part of our team.
